The following courses are also available, but are arranged by request rather than being regularly scheduled.

Adlib Library: Acquisitions

This course deals with all aspects of ordering materials using Adlib Acquisitions in conjunction with the Adlib Library system. It covers creating an order record, recording orders received, printing letters, handling payments and maintaining the supplementary files that facilitate and speed up the order process.

Aimed at:   Anyone who is responsible for ordering books through the use of Adlib Acquisitions
Guidance Level:   Intermediate – A basic knowledge of Adlib Library catalogue is required
Duration   One day


Adlib Library: Serials

This course deals with all aspects of serials management using Adlib Serials in conjunction with the Adlib Library system. It covers how subscriptions are entered and how copies received are recorded. Delegates also learn about distribution lists, printing supplier letters, payments handling, and maintenance of the supplementary files that facilitate serials administration. Aimed at: Anyone who is responsible for managing the journals through the use of Adlib Serials.

Note: This course is also available as a two day ‘stand-alone’ course at Introductory level.



Adlib Internet Server

The Adlib Internet Server is an add-on option available to all users of Adlib applications who wish make their database available for web browser based access on the Internet or an intranet. Delegates learn how to edit search forms, and how the presentation of records is controlled using style sheets. The course covers: the structure of web pages, HTML and hyperlinks, web browsers (Netscape and Internet Explorer), CSS, XML, integration with images and data input by users. Aimed at: Guidance Level: Advanced – delegates need a basic knowledge of web development techniques and of ADLIB applications. Duration: One – two days depending on experience of delegate.
